OVERVIEW

Dr. Akshay K. S. is an Australia-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a focused practice in Hip & Knee Surgery, Robotic Joint Replacement and Sports Knee Injuries. He has completed his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute (BMCRI), Bengaluru, followed by MS Orthopaedics from Grant Government Medical College & Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. He subsequently obtained his DNB in Orthopaedics and was awarded FAOrthA – Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

He has undergone advanced fellowship training in India and Australia, with extensive surgical exposure to modern hip and knee replacement techniques, robotic-assisted surgery, joint preservation and sports knee procedures.

Alongside his clinical practice, he has maintained a strong involvement in orthopaedic research and academics. He has contributed to more than 10 peer-reviewed scientific publications covering joint replacement, knee alignment, artificial intelligence in arthroplasty, trauma and complex orthopaedic conditions.

His research on the Coronal Plane Alignment of the Knee (CPAK) Classification in Indian patients undergoing Total Knee Arthroplasty was published in the Journal of Orthopaedic Reports.

He has also presented scientific work at major national and international meetings, including the SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress, IOACON and WIROC.

Dr. Akshay follows an evidence-based and patient-centred approach, with an emphasis on accurate diagnosis, preservation of the natural joint whenever appropriate, minimally invasive surgical techniques and structured rapid-recovery protocols.

He currently serves as Managing Director and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Avantis Super Speciality Clinic, Bengaluru.
